Site Progress

August 12, 2008

Updated, deleted and added some links.

November 2, 2006

Just to prove that www.jagdtiger.de is not dead a small update! :-)
Visited the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung in Koblenz (Germany) again and they had some new vehicles: A Jagdpanther and a (incredibly huge!) Sdkfz 9 (pictures taken by Martin C., thanks!)
Also updated are a few minor things and a new chick with(out) a tank .

August 19, 2006

Sorry about the lack of updates. My interests were in other directions but I am sure I will continue work on the site. I still get email from people who like the pictures. But what I do not like is idiots linking directly to hundreds of pictures from other sites. Yes, that means you little yellow people from far eastern countries! STOP IT! I have no problem renaming all files once a day. But if this gets on my nerves too much I will take the site down until I get a database running. That does not mean that you can not link to one or two pictures from a forum or other site. But linking to EVERY single German tank picture and creating more traffic than all of my pages together is too much!

September 21, 2004

Added another donated Chick with a tank.

May 20, 2004

I had to take down the movie section. As the movies were quite large they had to be stored on another server and I need that space for different things now. This is not the final word though. I have lots more movies and would like to put all of them them online one day. For the time being it is only the pics. Sorry...

May 12, 2004

Will Phelps is the co-author of the soft cover book "Panzer IV Survivors: Ausf. A-J (Interior Photos, Detail Photos, Chassis Numbers, History, Visitor's Guide)". Some of the pics from this site are shown in the book and some more I made especially for Will. I received my free copy yesterday. Thanks, Will! ;-)

April 29, 2004

A small update again! I visited the Imperial War Museum in London while on a business trip in February.
The SU-152/ISU-152 mistake was finally corrected. Thanks André and sorry for the long delay.
Getting married, moving into a new house and loads of work do not improve the chance that I will visit any museums this year, but we will see...

January 11, 2004

I guess some people wondered: But this site is not dead! Well, maybe sleeping restlessly. ;-)
Progress is somewhat slow as I had a lot of other things in my mind in the last year. But I hope to add a few more pictures in the next months.
For a starter I updated and added some links and added a very cool Chick with a Tank.
I already know about some bugs in the database and hope to correct them soon.

April 24, 2003

Added three movies of a ride with the SdKfz 251/1 (re-germanized OT-810) at the Ardennen Poteau '44 Museum.

Added the following vehicles after a one day trip to the Ardennes with my friend Boris:
M4A4 Sherman in Hermeton-sur-Meuse, Panther G in Celles,

Exchanged a few old pictures with bigger and/or better ones.

Added the Spähpanzer Luchs on display in Saumur.
Lindan corrected a lot of typos and bad grammar.

January 01, 2003

Added the M3A1 Halftrack on display in Stavelot.
I am still working on some movies and hope to upload them in the near future (as I promised some people for months ). Sorry that progress was so slow in recent times. I was preoccupied with Real Life (tm).

August 25, 2002

Added the General Marshall Museum. This museum is dedicated to the transport vehicles of the US army in WWII. We only show a few here. They have hundreds more and all are in prime condition. Well worth a visit. Thanks André for all the help again.
Added the M5 HST of the Ardennen Poteau '44 Museum. They have also added a M5A1 Stuart to their collection which is under restauration right now. Have a look at their homepage for news.

The colours and some other site layout was changed. The small Jagdtiger-icon in the upper left corner was replaced. Some links were fixed, added or replaced [thanks Grego].
The section covering the T-34 was splitted into the T-34-76 and T-34-85. All internal links were updated and the designations were changed to T-34-76 and T-34-85 respectively. It is possible that this will be done to the Panther and the M4 in the future too.

February 05, 2002

"www.jagdtiger.de - www.nahverteidigungswaffe.de" is mentioned in a list of recommended websites in the French model magazine "Steelmasters" No. 49. I consider some of the other sites in this article the best available. I am extremely proud www.jagdtiger.de is considered worthy to share their company. Though we do not list a "complete" overview of European military museums (Yet! ) as the article claims. [thanks André]

January 13, 2002

The new "www.jagdtiger.de" logo is introduced. The upper frame is gone too. The logo is now displayed on the main frame to save space on screens with lower resolutions.

December 16, 2001

Finally we managed to work on the video we did when visiting the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung in Koblenz during the Erste Koblenzer Museumsnacht. The result are seven .avi movies. One Kettenkrad, four Panther, two Stuart and two StuG III. A new "Movie" section was added where you can view and download them.
Several people already reported problems with the file format. You need DivX to view the movies!
